Over 100cr+ of virtual money was raised at the Tech30 Pitchfest

YourStory’s Tech30, the most definitive list of promising tech companies that have been shaping the country’s startup ecosystem for over a decade, needed an interactive medium to drive audience engagement and gauge interest in these new companies.

So we partnered with their team and built an app called Tech30 Fantasy League using Glide, for one of the biggest startup tech events of the country (You can see our logo somewhere on the images attached…yes, we are excited!) This was done under 10 days.

 

We built an App that allows the audience to participate in Shark Tank, but KBC-style at Tech Sparks. Previously, this was managed using Google Forms and Sheets but this time YourStory wanted a major upgrade which was simpler to use while being more engaging

  • It is a platform that allows the every participant, audience/investor/judges, to be a Virtual Angel Investor.
  • The Tech30 Startups pitch their business model on the stage while the audience can invest money using their preloaded wallets.
  • Users build out their Portfolio throughout the 3 day event.
  • Users can also connect with the company as a Customer or Investor in real life.
  • Startup founders can gauge interest while connecting with real customers or investors through TechSparks.

 

We had 603 unique investors, who made 1,164 made virtual investments that added up to 152.5 Cr.

We could see how the normal audience would get charged up to engage with the pitching startups by supporting through their virtual wallets. The ecosystem just came together.

There was one startup that stood out big time, Naam, who raised more than 20% of the overall funds. The founder used 1 trick on stage which made it work: he offered lifetime free subscriptions to the users who invested in his startup and that made a huge spike in their investment graph. By the end of it, we had 600+ virtual investors.

Our App surely drove engagement & excitement into the pitch.
